Pernambuco-Paraíba Basin

The Pernambuco-Paraíba Basin is situated in the northeastern margins of Brazil, covering an area is . This basin borders the Alto de Mamanguape in the North along the coast of Paraíba state, and with Alto de Maragogi to the South, in the state of Alagoas. There haven’t been any wells drilled in the offshore portion yet, except for a stratigraphic well and two others for capturing water in the submerged portion. The Basin is considered an exploration frontier basin.

 

Blocks PEPB-M-894 and PEPB-M-896

Blocks PEPB-M-894 and PEPB-M-896, where the Company is the operator and holds a 30% of participating interest, were  acquired during the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP)’s 11th Bidding Round. The main objectives are the reservoirs of the superior Crustacean section, being the source rocks in the aptian evaporite section. The expectation is that prospects will be more favorable to the presence of crude oil.

Under the exploratory program agreed with the ANP, the Company expects to carry out a 3D seismic survey for both blocks. Regarding the local content, the commitment is 37% in the exploration phase and 65% in the production phase. The acquisition and processing of the 3D seismic data are expected to begin in 2017.
