Pará-Maranhão Basin

Considered a new frontier basin, the Pará-Maranhão Basin is situated in the central portion of the Brazilian equatorial margin - along the coastline of the states of Pará and Maranhão – covering an area of approximately . The activities carried out at this basin indicate the presence of light oil in the region.

Blocks PAMA-M-265 and PAMA-M-337

In the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP)’s 11th Bidding Round, QGEP acquired participating interests in two deep-water blocks in the Pará-Maranhão Basin: Blocks PAMA-M-265 and PAMA-M-337. QGEP is the operator of both blocks and holds 100% working interest. The prospects in those blocks have similar characteristics to those in the Foz do Amazonas region, with a different structural style. Mixed, structural, and stratigraphic accumulations are expected, with the predominant fluid being oil.

Under the exploratory program agreed with the ANP, the Company expects a 3D seismic survey for both blocks. There is also the commitment for an exploration well in Block PAMA-M-337. Regarding the local content, for both blocks, the commitment is of 37% in the exploration phase and 65% in the production phase.

The Consortium completed the acquisition of the seismic data in the second quarter of 2016, and will process the data for the remainder of 2016.
