Viva Vôlei promotes integration among youths at the Campinhos center

For four years, Queiroz Galvão Exploração e Produção has supported Viva Vôlei centers in South Bahia. On March 29, the Canavieiras center sponsored a party for the young participants in a partnership with the Mãe dos Extrativistas Association to promote integration and socialization among the community’s children.

Around 100 students involved in the project came together and celebrated with games, cotton candy, hot dogs, popcorn, candy, music, giveaways, moment of beauty for girls, clothing distribution and a volleyball tournament in the end.

‘It is very rewarding to see children smiling and getting involved in the games and activities, and especially playing volleyball with pleasure’, affirmed Boinha Freire, PE teacher.

QGEP has supported the Viva Vôlei project, created in 1999 with the goal of promoting social integration of 7 to 14 year olds through sports, for four years. Supported by UNESCO since 2003, Viva Vôlei also received approval by the National Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CONANDA) to raise funds through the National Fund for Children and Adolescents (FNCA). Currently there are 73 centers in operation distributed across eight Brazilian states.
