QGEP a good prospect for 2014

According to information published last Friday, January 3, by Agência CMA, a financial market news agency, market analysts declared that Queiroz Galvão Exploração e Produção’s shares may well be the sector’s best financial market option this year. Currently, QGEP3 traded volume is low, having fallen in the last few days of 2013; however, there are prospects that the shares may reverse this trend and become one of the best appreciation bets for 2014.

In an interview with the agency, Geração Futura analyst Lucas Brendler commented that Queiroz Galvão’s first-quarter performance may trigger the return of oil assets to the investment portfolios.

In addition, Luís Otávio Broad of Ágora Corretora told CMA that the company’s healthy financial performance may be one of the attractions, as between January and September, Queiroz Galvão’s net income grew almost five times over the same period in the previous year, reaching R$171.1 million. Also in 9M13, EBITDA stood at R$203 million, nearly three times higher than the R$61.7 million recorded in the first nine months of 2012. Broad also drew attention to QGEP’s competent expense and debt management, in addition to mentioning the company’s conservative investment profile, which is currently pleasing investors.
