QGEP is one of the companies qualified by the ANP for the 11th Round of Bids

Around 60 companies submitted the documents required by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to participate in the 11th Round of Bids, the agency informed on March 26.

So far, four companies qualified to participate in exploration area bids: OGX, Shell, Queiroz Galvão Exploração e Produção and Repsol Sinopec, as informed by the agency in Diário Oficial da União newspaper on Tuesday.

All these companies were qualified to participate as A operators, able to bid for onshore and offshore exploration blocks.

The companies met the agency’s requirements, which included the payment of a fee and the presentation of proof of compliance with tax and labor obligations, conforming to all the stages of the qualification process and showing themselves to be capable of participating in the 11th Round of Bids.

A document published by the agency states that the Superintendent of Bids, Claudia Rabelo, warned companies against submitting documents with many non-compliances, without, for example, the correct documents of the interested companies’ legal representatives.

The round, scheduled for May, will mark the resumption of oil exploration area bids, which have not been held in Brazil since 2008. The ANP has added 117 blocks to the 172 that were anticipated in the round. In all, 289 blocks will be offered in 23 sectors, covering 155,800 square kilometers, distributed in 11 sedimentary basins.
