Viva Vôlei Center participates World Challenge Day

The Viva Vôlei project, sponsored by Queiroz Galvão Exploração e Produção in the south of Bahia state, organized a special activity for children attending the Canavieiras Center on May 29, World Challenge Day. The idea behind the event was to encourage the regular practice of physical and sporting activity in order to promote health.

The Julia Thompson sports center hosted the event, in which project participants were instructed by teachers Karina and Boaventura on their participation in World Challenge Day, which was created in Canada in 1983 and is disseminated worldwide by the Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), an organization based in Germany that promotes sports for all.

QGEP has maintained centers in Canavieiras and Campinhos since 2011. Viva Vôlei is registered with the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) and serves 300 children aged between seven and 14 years, helping reduce truancy and lead the youngsters away from crime and drugs, while at the same time instilling the ethical and moral values of citizenship.
